Katelyn Burke Greaney
My decision to study Studio and Live Sound Production at GTI was easily one of the best decisions I have made. Through this course I have learnt invaluable practical skills that apply to a variety of areas such as music, film, and radio. I can now confidently record, edit, and evaluate audio, as well as edit videos.
The staff at GTI were incredibly supportive and helpful and I have learned so much from them. The facilities at GTI allowed me to seamlessly improve my skills. I have learnt how to set up a variety of different microphones and how to use a variety of different DAW softwares, such as Pro Tools. I spent most of my time in the studio as a result. I also received a spot in the Erasmus program, which allowed me to travel to Pori in Finland for three weeks, where I was able to progress my studies in Sound Production and experience the culture in Finland.
It was a life-changing experience through which I have made friends and grown as a person. The course opened up a whole new world of media to me, and I even discovered my love of radio through it. I have since taken the practical skills I have acquired through this course to my current job in Galway Bay FM, which has been an incredible opportunity that I am forever grateful for.
